I've mailed you guys about this model before ..
and here it is again, it finally arrived in the mail a few days ago.

and i have to say, she's just as i expected her to be,
very articulated, very sturdy, and the best part is,
she is very well balanced.

The model on my drawing pad.


On the back of my BMX bike. Look at her just sitting there, keeping her balance.


And again on the wheel, peering over the edge.


Thats right, she's standing on her own two feet.

could have gotten it for cheaper , but i didn't look around that much, my fault really.

But hells ... i have the model now =]

Take some extreme worm's eyeview shots. That is one angle that always looks awesome, but isn't easy to get right from imagination unless repeated several times.

you have a lot of photos of her...sniff.

I bought both the male and female versions earlier in the year. I only recently removed them from their boxes to put in front of my drawing table because I didn't draw for over 6 months. Alas, I treat them more like toys than an artist's tool - I put them in new poses every night and to date have not used them as references at all. I prefer building figurework in my head.

Yeah, the things just standing there right now looking pretty ...

Drawing figures by way of knowledge of the human anatomy and a little bit of imagination is always the best.
I find that when i drew from a life model, it usually takes away the drawing's 'personality' as opposed to when i doodle straight from the head.

It is still an awesome model tho ...
after a while i figure i'd have that artist drawing block that comes along once in a while,
and when it does, this model would be a great source of inspiration.

What you just described there is why I don't think I can accept modern superhero Marvel comics. The draughtsmanship uses so many references and thus is so accurate, the comics seem to be lacking 'character'. Heroes are just too correct now, and the artists lack individuality... weird when you think about it really...

Hey, Jerry, that probably explains why I'm such a DC fangirl. Marvel's inhouse colouring style really emphasises the whole realism style that they want for their books (on top of the already heavily realistic humans most of the artists draw), which makes me sometimes wonder if I'm looking at a photobook or a comic book.

My Gaaaddd... I can't believe someone actually agrees with me on this. It's such a fine line what can inspire or demoralise.

When I first saw Alex Ross back in the 90s, I was public enemy #1; I really loved his work, but dubbed him the Anti-Christ of comic art.

It was clear to see that Mr Ross was/is a genius, and he even manages to capture large degrees of superhero ridiculousness, BUT I feared that others would follow his lead, and end up right where we are today.

Poor imitations were bound to bring less to the table, and this is why I was against the bolstering of such hi-profile 'realism'.

But if the market wants it, who am I (we) to complain? If anyone in ACAS wants to publish such work, never would/could I stand in their way either. diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks 'n' all dat, know what I mean?
